The Miami Heat are currently the present NBA Champions after defeating Dallas Mavericks basketball team in the NBA finals 2006. The Miami Heat basketball team was formed back in the booming days of NBA in 1980’s when the NBA wanted to expand its basketball teams from 23 total teams to 26 total teams by the end of that decade. Through the years the Miami Heat NBA basketball team has progressed immensely and holds the current NBA Champions title.
